We are fast approaching the end of another successful year and this email is to give all Members notice that the forthcoming Club AGM will be on Friday 15th January at the Saffron Hotel, Saffron Walden starting at 8pm. There will be various Committee Roles available for 2016 and details of how to volunteer/nominate and vote can be found below.
We've really tried to streamline this AGM and will want to keep to a tight schedule, aiming to be finished by 9.30pm, after which we can all retire to the bar and then, for those interested, a curry... So please put the date in your diary and try to make it.
There are two parts of the meeting that involve your direct input:-
1. Volunteering/Nomination and Voting for Committee Roles
Please read the Agenda for the Committee Roles that are available and need to be filled.
All volunteers and nominations for roles must be submitted by email by 29th December. The shortlisted nominations will be sent to you on Friday 1st January in order for you to make your vote.
We have a current membership of 160 which has grown 30% since this time last year and without you volunteering and investing your time in the Club we will be unable to develop or support our current agendas, so please get involved and help make 2016 bigger and better.
If you are unable to make the meeting on the 15th January, then you can "vote by proxy" by email.
Please correspond in both instances to: secretary.waldenvelo@gmail.com
2. Any Other Business (AOB)
The purpose of the AGM is to provide a statement of facts for the last year. This covers the general welfare of the Club including finances, events and structure. It also outlines the plans for 2016 and the impact on those general items. You have the opportunity to raise questions with regards to those statements at the end of each section, but as a whole the AGM acts as a reporting requirement not a general question and answer session. However, in "Any Other Business", you have the opportunity to raise a point, or make a request that you consider relevant to the general welfare of the Club.
To ensure that we keep to a timely and structured format could you please email your point and a brief by 29th December to ensure that we include it in AOB on the evening and raise it for you if you are unable to attend.
So in Summary
1) If you'd like to stand or nominate someone for one of the committee roles email the details by 29th December.
2) If you've got any AOB you'd like covered during the AGM email the details by 29th December .
3) If you'd be interested in going for a curry after a beer, after the AGM email by 8th January and we'll get some tables booked
